User Services
User Services has all the latest news and events, as well as a wealth of tutorials for employees looking to learn how to use certain programs or find new ways to do things!
Training
Administrative Training gives you information about upcoming workshops, including links to register for computer classes.
WebAdvisor
WebAdvisor is the portal for students, faculty, and many administrators into the Datatel Colleague-Benefactor administrative system. Students use this to schedule classes, check grades and financial aid information, report participation in student groups and vote in ASG (Student Government) elections. Faculty use it to check information on class rosters, advisees and senior projects and to report grades. Employees use it for budget tracking.
Informer
Informer Report Server is the reporting tool for many employees to pull data from Datatel Colleague. Since Informer was implemented in the fall of 2006, the tools have become quite popular among departments with constantly changing reporting needs. Through Informer end users have greater control over the content, format, and output of their reports. (Supports XML, Excel, PDF and allows users to personalize their own view of their reports.)
Room and Equipment Reservations
Room reservations across campus can be made online through the Scheduler Reservation System. Equipment reservations (laptops, projectors, etc) are made online through the Pelletier Library Online Catalog. Instructions for reserving equipment can be found on the Library web site.
Datatel
Datatel's web site offers tutorials and training to a wide variety of users, from programmers to even casual users.
The users group organizes an online forum which is an excellent resource for getting help from fellow users, learning about the practices of other schools, and even offering suggestions or solutions to peers.
DUG
The Datatel Users Group, otherwise known as DUG provides user advocacy and communication, particularly through their annual conference, held in the Washington DC area every March. Allegheny College is a regular attendee and presenter.
Allegheny is a founding member of the Pennsylvania Area Datatel Users Group.
